Wild-Caught

Summer makes me nostalgic for all sorts of things. I think it’s the warm air that triggers certain memories. One is fishing in the Gulf of Mexico with my dad and brothers. My dad would wake us up before sunrise, always giving the option to sleep in – and no matter how tempting it would be to pull the covers over my head and stay in bed, I’d get up and join them. There would be the routine ride out to get snacks and maybe bait, and then we’d be chasing the sun in hopes of hooking a Redfish or a nice Speckled Trout for dinner.

Wild-caught deep water fish is one of the best foods out there. High in Omega-3s and other fatty-acids, wild-caught fish can play an important role in preparing your body for proper inflammatory responses – processes that are integral in your body’s healing abilities.
